Angry Birds Star Wars Birthday Party
Hi everyone!
I am SUPER excited to share the boys’ sixth birthday party with you today!
The boys and I chatted a few months ago and they decided on an Angry Bird Star Wars theme. They said that they still wanted to have a combined party together and they agreed to a “toonie” party. A toonie party is one where guests bring $2 for the birthday boy and $2 for charity. We are not big on getting a bunch of toys and the boys were happy to have enough money to go out and choose something that they had been saving up for. They will be delivering their donation to charity soon.
Welcome you we must! On to the party details….
I painted a quick Yoda to greet guests at the front door.
This pig Death Star was brilliant. I had no idea if the project would work until the day before the party! This is a 4ft tall balloon! Yes, a balloon! That I hung in the garage and spray painted grey. Who knew that you could spray paint a balloon?! Then I drew on details with a Sharpie and some acrylic paint.
We hung it in the center of the living room as that was the only spot it would fit! lol
I cut ears out of grey cardstock and taped them to the top of the balloon too.
Best $5 decoration ever!
One of the activities we had the kids do was grab a soft, stuffed lightsaber {that I had made for party favors} and head outside to “destroy the death star”.
The Death Star didn’t stand a chance! hee hee
I also painted a Sand Pig for “pin the nose on the pig”.
Isaiah helped me to cut out the noses for this game ~ I love that the boys are old enough to help with party planning and activities now.
Here’s our pig with all of his noses.
We also blew up white balloons and painted imperial pig faces on them for “pop the piggie”.
The night before the party I decided to gather up some boxes for a life sized game of Angry Birds.
I am so glad that I did! This game was by far the party favorite!
I only wish that I had had time to Star Warsify the pigs ;)
We also played Angry Bird Star Wars bingo which was lots of fun with five year olds!
We provided party goers with a hot dog lunch and lots of Angry Bird Star Wars goodies.
Here are our Angry Bird Star Wars fondant topped cupcakes.
Some Fruit Sabers.
Vader Veggies.
Yoda Soda.
Wookie Cookies made by the fabulous Sarah from Sarah’s Sweets.
Chewbacca Chips and Dip.
We stuck to a bit of a blue and yellow colour scheme.
Hutt Dogs.
I found this great Angry Bird Star Wars printable banner from Mobile Home Mommy.
The banner helped to tie everything together.
And that’s all folks!
Birthday parties all done for another year.

Heather, this is AMAZING! I am absolutely going to try that life size angry birds with the boxes! My boys would LOVE that! Everything is just awesome and proves you are one super talented mama! :)
This is the cutest party idea. Above and beyond that though I absolutely love that your children agreed to receive $2 for them and $2 for their chosen charity. What an amazing thing you are teaching your children!
