Hi everyone!
My little guys turned six last month and we celebrated with an EPIC Angry Birds Star Wars birthday party!
Before we share all of the details I just have to show you these cupcakes!
A few weeks before the party I had a ton of fun creating these fondant Angry Bird Star Wars cupcake toppers. Working with fondant is a lot like working with play dough and after some experimentation and practice these turned out pretty cute! You can do this too! Just pick up some fondant and start playing! I actually took step by step photos of each fondant character and would be happy to post them if there was any interest.

We had C3PO, R2D2, Yoda, Han Solo, Darth Vader and Chewbacca.
Since fondant isn’t considered the most delicious topping, I wanted to make sure that the actual cupcakes were to die for. I used a triple chocolate cake mix {prepared}, cookie dough and muffin cups.
I simply filled the muffin cups half way full with cake batter then dropped 1 Tbsp of cookie dough into the center of each cupcake.
After baking as usual we had the most amazing, moist, chocolate chip cookie cupcakes. I topped each with a bit of chocolate icing before placing our cupcake toppers on top. Here’s a close up of each character…
Be sure to come back soon for the entire party low down!
Those turned out AMAZING Heather! Awesome job! I’m certain they were a hit!
Thank you :)

My littlest boy loves the Angry Birds characters, and these would be perfect for his birthday. :)

Those cupcakes look amazing! You have some skills. My son would absolutely love these!
When you made the Star Wars angry birds fondant designs, how far in advance did you do them? I’ve never worked with fondant but am thinking about trying it and wondered how many days before the party I can begin working on them, or do I have to do it the night before? Awesome designs!
Thank you! I made them three weeks before the party and stored them in an air tight container. :)

Hi Jeni! I made them 2-3 weeks before the party and kept them in an air tight container in a kitchen cupboard. That’s one of the nice things about fondant cupcake toppers ~ you can do this part of the party prep weeks in advance :)
I am hoping to do this with marshmallow fondant due to food allergies. I believe regular fondant has a nut base?? I would love to see the step by step photos or at least hear how you dyed the fondant (brands, color combinations to get the brown shade) and other supplies I may need to purchase.
Hi Jessica! These were made with marshmallow fondant ~ I will be posting more detailed photos this Tuesday :)
These are awesome! My son is a huge Star Wars Angry Birds fan. You have a lot of patience… and talent!
