This was my submission for Season 9 of SYTYC. And I made it through auditions!!! Did you know that it was me?
What? A girl project!?
Well I have some fun news!
Have I mentioned that Darcy and I are Foster Parents?
We’ve been house parents to young men and women for quite some time, long before we had our own kids. We love it ~ it’s very rewarding work!
Recently we decided to welcome younger children into our home. In June we had a little girl, 7 years old, placed with us. She is energetic, funny and a true pleasure to be around! While we are not sure how long she will be with us, we have made the most of every opportunity to make her feel warm, welcome and cared for.
And so {for a while at least} you will see more girly projects from around our previously boy filled house. YAY!
Without further ado I give you:
a Butterfly Print Painting
I created this painting to add some much needed color to a
special little girls room.
We personalized it by using her very own hand and foot prints!
Can you see them?
I painted her hands and feet and used the prints for the butterfly wings. Then I painted coordinating frames around them and added details in black and white.
Can you spot her cute little toes?
I wrapped the images right around the sides of the painting.
This favorite t-shirt of hers was our inspiration.
I love that this is not only a personalized project for her room but also that it is something that she can take with her on her journey of life.
Thank you so much for reading!
xoxo
That is really REALLY super cute!!! I want to make one now, although it won’t be as cute as yours!
Moore Babies
Congratulations on making it through! Cute project.
Love this and your kind and compassionate personality!
This is genius! I didn’t notice they were made of hand and footprints until you pointed it out! Definitely something to pin for a future craft project with my daughter. Visiting from 733.
If you have time, I would love for you to join my first giveaway:

This is as sweet as can be! I love the bright colors you used and the handprint for the wings was an ingenious idea! Stopping by from CSI.
