I simply scrambled a bunch of eggs before hand then layered my ingredients in the camp cooker. Bread {buttered on the outside}, egg, cheese, ham and bread.
Toast over the fire for about 5 minutes and call it done! I might try cooking eggs in a muffin tin at home then packing them for camping next time. Fewer dishes to do out in the wilderness ;)
These were truly amazing.
My favourite campiron breakfast is to heat the campiron first, then we set the camp iron on a flat surface and crack an egg directly into the hot and oiled campiron. We are careful that the egg white covers the whole side(so the cheese doesn’t escape and burn), salt & Pepper, and layer some back bacon and cheese on top, and cover with a slice of bread. You have to be careful to cook the egg side first, without tilting it too much, so it doesn’t spill, and then finish toasting the other side when the egg is cooked. Soo so yummy, and you don’t have to prep the egg beforehand!
