This lovely DIY Evergreen Swag is a quick, easy and inexpensive Christmas project! Add a festive pop of color to your front porch this year.
Every year I start to decorate for Christmas at 12:01 am on November 1st.
Living in Canada both Thanksgiving and Halloween have passed. Some may think that it’s a little early but here’s my reasoning: it takes me a day or two to take down all of our fall decor then another day to clean the house in preparation for decorating.
Yet another day is spent rearranging furniture for holiday decor while the next day Christmas bins get hauled out of storage. I spend the next few days rummaging through and organizing ornaments, then I spend some time creating new decorations or displays.
I haunt the stores looking for that certain something that may be missing from a vignette. Finally, I start to set things out and rearrange, rearrange, rearrange. If I didn’t start in November, I might not be done until January!
So the boys and I went out and did some creative “pruning” in our yard to create these DIY Christmas Evergreen Swags. I love that we have a bit of a forest in our yard ~ lots of greenery and twigs for potential projects!
I tied our evergreen branches together with floral wire then added bits and bobs from my holiday stash. They are hung simply by the wire on a nail attached to my front pillars.
The bows were clearance at Superstore, the ribbon from Costco and the ornaments from Michaels.
