Supplies that you’ll need:
- Wire coat hanger
- Floral wire
- Evergreen boughs (similar to mine)
- Hot glue gun (optional)
- Jute twine (optional)
- Snowflake ornament (optional)
Directions:
- Bend the coat hanger into a circle shape to create a wreath form.
- Take the evergreen boughs in bunches of three and attach to the wire form with floral wire.
- Wrap the floral wire around the ends of the boughs and the wire form 6-8 times before cutting the floral wire and repeating all the way around the wire coat hanger form.
- Optional: use hot glue to glue branches into place.
- Optional: hang a snowflake ornament from the center.
As an alternative, we used large embroidery hoops (found at the thrift store) as a wreath form. Use twine to wrap evergreen boughs to the wreath form and hide the ends of branches.
We scavenged evergreen boughs from around the yard. Cedar and juniper were our favorite plants to use although pine and fir would work too. Many of our local grocery stores had fresh evergreen boughs for sale as well.
This DIY Evergreen Wreath Tutorial is useful for so many projects! My original inspiration came from a local gift shop where several evergreen wreaths were used as wall hangings above the bed.
This is such an inexpensive way to add a pop of color and texture to your holiday decor this year!
