This felt Pickett makes a great bookmark!
I am always on the look out for easy craft projects for the kids! With the latest Fantastic Beasts movie having just been released, I thought that it would be fun to make one of my favorite characters, Pickett.
Pickett is a Bowtruckle that is known to reside in Newt’s top pocket and has an uncanny skill for lock picking.

Supplies needed:

- Dimensional fabric paint in green, brown and white
- Green floral wire
- Straight pins

- Bowtruckle pattern *
* You may download the free Pickett pattern using the form at the bottom of this blog post for easy printing and tracing!
All of my craft supplies were found at Dollarama! But you could order them online using the links above as well.
I used neon green felt to create Pickett but any light green color would work!
How to create a Felt Pickett Craft:
- Gather all of the supplies. Download and print the Bowtruckle pattern sheet.
2. Trim the pattern to the size of the felt material.
3. Use the straight pins to pin the pattern to the two sheets of green felt.
4. Carefully cut out the Bowtruckle shape using the pattern as a guide.
Tip: be sure to use sharp, pointy scissors whenever you are cutting felt!
5. Bend, shape and cut the floral wire to line the inside of one Bowtruckle shape. Use the hot glue gun to glue it into place.
Tip: low temperature glue works best with felt.
6. Glue the other piece of felt over the wires, making sure that they are all covered.
7. Use the dimensional fabric paint to add an outline and details to Pickett. Add brown to the leaves, fingers, toes and eyes. Use the green to outline the body and embellish his eyes with a dot of white.
8. Set aside to allow the paint to dry completely.
Super adorable right?! I love the details of his face and how he can be posed and bent using the floral wire.
