You guys! Can you believe that it is December already?! Crazy right? We had our first major snowfall of the year last week so I declared it a Snow Day! The kids and I got down to some Christmas crafting and created the most adorable reindeer out of egg cartons! Let me show you how to create this egg carton reindeer because your kids are sure to love it…
Cute right?! These little guys are so easy to create with just a few supplies that can be found around the house. I try to have crafting materials on hand at all times. My kids know that they can go into the craft room and find all sorts of things that will help them get creative! Keeping things organized into bins and stocked up is always helpful because then they can easily find the supplies that they may need. We tend to run out of hot glue sticks most often and I am always having to make a trip to the dollarstore to pick up more!
Supplies (affiliate links):
- egg carton
- acrylic paint
- googly eyes
- red pom pom
- brown pipe cleaner or twigs
- white school glue
- twine
First you will need to cut up an egg carton. We find that these cardboard cartons work best when painting rather than the styrofoam ones.
Next paint each egg cup brown. Here is Cam painting.
And Isaiah! Such concentration.
Allow the egg cups to dry before adding a red nose, googlie eyes and stick antlers with a hot glue gun.
You can leave the little reindeer like this,
or make eight of them to attach to Santa’s sleigh like Cam did. Awesome right?!
Simply attach a piece of twine to create a quick egg carton reindeer ornament like Isaiah did. I absolutely love crafting with the kids, especially at this time of year! They creativity and possibilities are endless! What are you making?
This is really sweet. Love it
