Today I am sharing my new entryway lighting and decor inspiration. With a few thrifted finds and great sales, I gave this space in my home a whole new look!
This spring I did a whole design refresh of my living and dining space. It was so much fun redecorating and lightening up the space! One of the biggest changes was this new pendant light in my front entranceway.
I absolutely love how this light fixture makes a huge statement the moment you walk into my home! Its a dramatic piece that was totally needed to fill this area and give it some much needed character.
I was thrilled to find this fixture on clearance for under $100!! Gorgeous and budget friendly?!? Win, win! It replaced a builder-grade black chandelier with sconces. Follow @twindragonflydesigns on Instagram for the before and after photos.
I also added a few new decorative accents to this space. I love, love, love this wicker basket that I found at my local thrift store. It might have been three bucks?! Score! I simply filled it with faux succulents and added our distressed “home” sign above. Check out my succulent wall hanging post for the tutorial!
Entryway Lighting and Decor Inspiration:

This large wall over the stairway also needed something to fill the space. I had previously hung an extra large painting here with a dark, black frame. Replacing it with this vintage window was a huge change! It lightens up the space a hundred times over!!
These wooden arrows are ones that I purchased from a local entrepreneur at Rustic Creations. I stained and painted them to coordinate with the window. Check out my DIY Rustic Arrows Tutorial for how to create your own version of these!
Its hard to photograph just how dramatic this light fixture is! Thankfully it came with a whole set of replacement bulbs as these faux vintage bulbs can be quite expensive. I’m on the lookout for sales so that I can stock up when I need them.

My essentials for home decor projects:
- This Varathane Stain in American Walnut is the one I use most often.
- I love to use this Varathane Polyurethane to seal all of my projects.
- This Black and Decker hand held sander is my favorite.
- Apple Barrel acrylic paint is my brand of choice for small details.
I will be adding seasonal decor to the vintage window whenever I switch things out. I can’t wait to dress it up for Christmas!! You can find more window and wreath details in this Spring Wreath and Vintage Window post. What do you think? Would you hang a light fixture like this in your home?
