Today I want to share a colorful drink with you that is perfect for your Independence Day celebration. Not only is this festive cocktail delicious, but it is also beautiful.

The fruit provides the red layer, the Sprite makes the white layer, and the Blue Curacao liqueur creates a blue layer.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use nice, ripe fruit in your cocktails. The flavor really makes a difference to your finished product.
  • If you want to avoid seeds from the fresh berries in your cocktail, strain your drink through a fine-mesh strainer.
  • While you can use frozen berries for the cocktail itself, I highly recommend making your garnishes with fresh ones.
  • I like to use a highball glass, Collins glass, or another tall glass for serving this easy cocktail. The height of the glass is perfect for showing off those gorgeous layers.
  • Don’t have Blue Curacao? You can use Triple Sec or Cointreau, along with a few drops of blue food coloring, instead.
  • Love a good cocktail, but you also want to cut back on your sugar intake? Make your own sugar-free simple syrup or try an alternative like agave nectar. Choose drinks that use club soda or tonic water, instead of sugary pop.
