This rock craft can be made harder or easier depending on the age of the child who is making it. For younger children, have the rock painted red for them ahead of time and all they need to do is add dots. For older children, have them paint the entire projects and hot glue the magnet on (with adult supervision).

First you need to start with some rocks, clearly! I really like these flat river rocks for painting from Amazon. It can sometimes be hard to find the perfect flat rock for craft projects and so these rocks make it easy! But if you want to go out rock hunting just be sure to wash the rocks that you find thoroughly before using them for your project.
Supplies needed for this craft:
- 1-2” round rock
- Red acrylic paint
- Green acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Magnet
- Mod Podge (optional)
How to make a rock strawberry:
1. Paint the entire rock red (tip: place a bit of putty on the back of the rock to stick it to your craft surface while painting).
2. Paint the top of the rock with green leaves.
3. Paint black and white seeds all over the rock.
4. Seal with a coat of Mod Podge (optional).
5. Allow to completely dry.
6. Glue the magnet to the back of the rock with hot glue.
These would make darling garden markers as well! Simply leave off the magnet and attach a popsicle stick to use as a stake to place the strawberry in the ground.
