Supplies:
- Blender – we love this Ninja Pro. A food processor works too though!
- Popsicle molds – these silicone molds are ideal and the ones we like to use.
Peach Rose Winesicles:
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups frozen peach slices
- 2 cups rose wine
- 1 cup orange juice
Directions:
- Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
2. Pour the wine mixture into popsicle mold.
3. Freeze until solid, preferably overnight.
More Ideas:
- For a non-alcoholic version, switch out the wine for ginger ale.
- Skip the popsicle molds, and the wait time, and serve this recipe in a wine glass, as a homemade slushie.
- Make a chunky version of these winesicles. Add diced fresh peaches or other fruit to your molds before adding the liquid.
- Freeze the peach mixture in ice cube trays. Add the ice cubes to coconut water or soda water for a refreshingly delicious drink.
- Try peach schnapps, white wine, or prosecco popsicles. You can also use any of your favorite red wines for alcoholic popsicles. Just combine wine with complimentary fruit and juice.
- Use fresh strawberries and make red wine popsicles.
Tips and Tricks:
- I love using silicone popsicle molds for homemade popsicles. Check out some of my favorite popsicle molds.
- Small paper cups, like Dixie cups, are a great alternative to popsicle molds, especially if you are making popsicles for a crowd. The paper can simply be peeled off when it is time to enjoy the frozen treat. Plastic cups work well too, though they take a little more work to unmold.
- If you are using DIY molds, insert a wooden popsicle stick into the top of each mold once your popsicle mixture has partially set, to help keep the stick upright. Alternatively, you can cover the molds with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, make small holes in each cover, and insert the popsicle sticks right away.
- You can use agave nectar, honey, maple syrup, sugar, simple syrup, or sugar substitute to sweeten your popsicles.
- Make your own simple syrup for sweetening popsicles and summer drinks. In a small saucepan, over medium heat, mix equal parts water and sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once the syrup is cool, it can be stored in an airtight container, in the fridge.
- When making boozy popsicles, the alcohol content can hinder the freezing process. Be sure you have a high enough ratio of your favorite fruits and juice in your mixture to ensure the popsicles freeze.
- Make unmolding your popsicles easy by letting them sit at room temperature for a few minutes first. You can also run warm water over the outside of the mold for a few seconds to loosen the popsicles.
