Plants Vs Zombies Pea Shooter Costume
This Plants Vs Zombies Pea Shooter costume is so easy to create that it can be made literally hours before trick-or-treating on Halloween!
Sometimes Halloween costume inspiration comes at the very last minute. That’s definitely what happened with this awesome Plants Vs Zombies Pea Shooter costume!
After making our Cone Head Zombie Costume and Chomper Costume we needed one more character to complete the crew. This larger than life size plant costume was whipped together mere hours before our Halloween festivities a few years ago!
The focus of this costume is clearly the epic mask. Modelled from a cartoon character in the popular Plants Vs Zombies game, this was no easy task!
While scouring Value Village for costume ideas I found this baseball mask that I decided to use as the base for our Pea Shooter Costume.
I cut a larger hole in the face of the baseball mask and used a piece of cardboard to create a tube mouth. Then I duct taped and glued it together before covering it all in green felt material.
Eyes were added using black felt material and green felt leaves were attached to the neck of the mask using a hot glue gun. Felt material is my go to craft material whenever I am costume making.
It is so versatile and easy to work with, most of the time I just cut and glue it onto my project. The only problem is that it is not machine washeable. So any stains or cleaning that needs to be done must be by hand. But for costumes that are often only worn once?! It’s perfect!

I purchased a bright green jumpsuit to complete our Plants Vs Zombies Pea Shooter look. These jumpsuits are great for halloween costumes because you can layer clothes under them depending on the weather.
Some years we have snow at Halloween and freezing cold temperatures. So its nice to dress the kids up warmly underneath their costumes.
