I seriously cannot believe that my twin boys are SEVEN! Seriously! Everyone says that the times goes by fast but… seriously! Wow. I started this little old blog when they were one. And I remember thinking to myself “gee, should I really call it Twin Dragonfly Designs? What if we have more children?” Then the boys turned TWO…. and we were good. Decision made *wink*. We celebrated last month with a fun and somewhat last minute Super Mario Birthday Party. Today I am sharing the cute little Mushroom Party Favors that I made for the guests.
These little guys are made using a sour cream container. It’s a type of box that you can make that actually DOES look like a packet of sour cream – the kind that you get with packaged salad kits at the grocery store. It’s my absolute favorite container to create because it is so easy! Check out my Candy Corn Container for the most recent tutorial.
After creating the containers and filling them with Skittles I simply drew eyes with a sharpie and added a mushroom top. The white dots on the mushroom top were created using a white marker. Super simple.
Each of the party goers got a red mushroom {that allows Mario to grow} or a green mushroom {that allows Mario to gain an extra life}. Honestly the kids knew more about all of these characters than I did. hee hee
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for more party details.
