Today I am sharing this Red Superhero Desk reveal! I am in love with the way that this desk turned out!
It is just the perfect thing for the boys’ superhero bedroom.
Red superhero desk before and after:
I picked the desk up at a garage sale for $10 a few months ago. After taking the old {wooden & square} knobs off, I gave it a good sanding. Then I stuck it out on the front lawn to spray paint the entire thing. After two coats of Krylon primer and four coats of Krylon fire engine red I had created a lovely red crop circle on the front lawn. I’ll just mow it later. Ha.
These DIY superhero drawer pulls are the perfect finishing touch. They were super easy to create so be sure to check out the post!
The desk is also perfect for the boys’ small, shared bedroom. It is only about 3 feet by 18 inches in size and provides a great little workspace for when they go to school.
I am working with a red, yellow and blue colour scheme throughout the room. I have big plans for a couple of superhero paintings before I can do a full bedroom reveal.
Batman has to be my favorite drawer pull.
Seriously! It’s Batman!
The ‘be the good’ sign is a new DIY, the little basket is something that I made out of sinew and pine needles back in highschool and the pencil holder globe is a fab find from the thrift store at $4.
Some of our crafting essentials for kid crafts:
- We love using these Apple Barrel Acrylic Paints (aff link) to add bright color to all of our projects.
- These paint brushes (aff link) are ideal for most craft surfaces and a great price!
- This art supplies kit (aff link) is our favorite because it has everything we needed to get started.
- This rolling storage cart (aff link) helps to keep our craft supplies organized.
It’s a great desk! Love the bright red color you chose. And I love your new blog design.
Amazing! I think you are the Super Hero :)
Love the red & those knobs are so cute! Found your post from the House of Hepworths Linky Party, TFS!

Hi Debbie! Be sure to sand and clean the surface as much as possible. Then apply light coats of spray paint until you get the color that you desire. Hope that helps :)
Did you put a top coat?
Yes, I used clear Varathane
