 Hey guys!
If you are just popping in, be sure to follow along for
fabulous boy projects and tutorials all month long.
And don’t forget to enter our GIVEAWAY!

It’s all part of
One For The Boys ~ Holiday Edition
here on the blog.

This reversible neck warmer would be the perfect gift for just about any of the men in my life.  Add a fun moustache and it is a sure fire hit!

Silly Moustache DIY

Created to be completely reversible for a more sedate look at the office?  Or on the way to work?

For this project you will need:
one piece of fleece measuring 30″ x 12″
one piece of heavy cotton 30″ x 12″
one moustache cut from heavy cotton
six buttons
elastic thread
miscellaneous sewing supplies

Step 1:  Sew the cotton moustache to the fleece, about 5″ from one end and 1 1/2″ from the top.
Step 2:  With right sides facing, sew the two pieces of fabric together.  Leave one end open for inverting.
Step 3:  Invert so the right sides are out.  Fold the unfinished ends under and into the center and sew the end closed.
Step 4:  Create three button holes at one end.  I simply use a zig zag stitch to create three narrow rectangles.  Then I cut out the centre of the rectangle.  There are many simple tutorials on the web for button holes.
Step 5:  Sew buttons onto the opposite end using elastic thread.  Sew two buttons together, one on either side of the neck warmer.  The elastic thread allows the buttons to have more movement when buttoning the neck warmer from either side.  Done.

I left the raw edges of the cotton to allow the moustache to fray a little.

Mismatched buttons add a bit of a whimsical look.

I had my husband, Darcy, model this project for me.
I told him that he wasn’t allowed to look as it was a Christmas present.
I made him close his eyes when taking it on and off even.
Then I snapped a bunch of photos,
giggling to myself the entire time.

But what a nice, inexpensive, simple boy project right?!

Make sure to enter our GIVEAWAY for your chance to win a
Reversible Neck Warmer of your very own!
