Did someone say Star Wars?! So I am totally a nerd when it comes to Star Wars and have passed on the nerdy torch to my boys after many years of subliminal messages through room decor, bedding and toys. Now my sons knowledge of Star Wars far surpasses my own and I can rest assured that my job here has been done! We are always looking for fun crafts for boys and came up with these Star Wars Rock Photo Holders the other day. My guys love, love, love them!
I mean, how can you go wrong with painted rocks AND Star Wars?! It was a no-brainer really. Add a photo element and these become the perfect room accent or gift for the Star Wars lover on your list.
Supplies:
Smooth river rocks
Acrylic paint
Mod Podge
Small paint brush
Bendable wire
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Directions:
Paint the rocks using acrylic paint and a small brush.
Allow the paint to dry and seal with Mod Podge.
Wrap a piece of wire around each rock to create a photo holder.
We selected rocks with shapes specific to the characters that we wanted to create. So Yoda started with a round-ish rock, Chewbacca with an oval rock and Boba Fett with a more triangular shaped rock.
Chewbacca is always my favorite!
Boba Fett coming up a close second.
And finally wise, old Yoda.
I mean, how awesome are these guys?!?
Cam’s teacher this year is a fan of Star Wars too – super excited for that! This would make the perfect Teacher Gift for her no?! The boys have these in their rooms on display with a photograph attached. You can totally skip the wire and just keep them as fun rock momentos.
