What are chocolate covered pretzels?
Chocolate covered pretzels are delicious little treats with the perfect combination of sweet and salty flavours. These classic chocolate covered pretzels are made easy by simply using mini pretzels, dipping them in dark chocolate and then covering them with milk chocolate and white chocolate drizzle.
I love how pretty this sweat treat looks with just chocolate! It can easily be adapted by simply using different colored chocolate or adding candy.
Try using: homemade caramel drizzle, flaky sea salt, semi-sweet chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or different colored candy melts.

Ingredients:
- 12-20 Mini Pretzels
- 3 oz Dark Chocolate Candy Melts
- 1 oz White Chocolate Candy Melts
- 1 oz Milk Chocolate Candy Melts
Tip: pretzel rods, large pretzels, pretzel twists, pretzel sticks or square pretzels can be used instead of mini ones.
Directions:
1. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate wafers in the microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is completely smooth. Dip the pretzel into the chocolate, coating the whole pretzel.
2. Place the treats on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet or wire rack. Tip: using a wire rack allows the excess chocolate to drip from this salty treat.
3. In a small bowl, melt the white chocolate and milk chocolate wafers in the microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate is completely smooth. Pour the chocolate into piping bags or sturdy plastic bags.
4. Cut the tip from the milk chocolate piping bag and drizzle chocolate over the pretzels. Repeat with the white chocolate.
5. Place the pretzels in the fridge and allow the chocolate to harden completely before serving.
TIPS FOR MAKING THESE CHOCOLATE PRETZELS:
- Use Wilton candy melts for best results, the wafer chocolate melts the best. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil to other melted chocolate chips to help them melt and pour better.
- Lay the chocolate covered treat on a wax paper lined baking sheet for easy moving and transporting before the chocolate has hardened.
- Place the chocolate in the fridge or freezer to completely cool before serving.
How long do chocolate dipped pretzels last?
Store these yummy treats in a large freezer bag or airtight container for up to one month at room temperature. They can also be stored in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from melting or in the freezer for months.
