What is pork loin?

Sometimes called “the other white meat”, pork provides us with many different cuts of meat. Pork loin is a piece of pork that is taken from the back of the pig. This lean cut of meat is a great protein option when you’re tired of beef and chicken breast has gotten a little too pricey.

Tips & tricks:

  • Be sure to remove the silver skin from your meat before cooking.
  • Easily turn this large cut of meat into boneless pork chops by cutting it into thick slices. They can then be frozen individually.
  • Though a Traeger will give you the best results with this recipe, you can still use a charcoal grill or gas grill. Cook time may vary though. Always be sure the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
  • If you prefer marinades over dry rubs, in a small bowl, mix together olive oil or vegetable oil, lime juice and zest, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, a little maple syrup, and some chopped fresh herbs. Place pork in a resealable bag with the marinade for at least 1 hour before cooking.

How to store leftovers:

Leftover pork should be stored in the fridge, sealed in an airtight container. It makes excellent sandwiches the next day.

Use leftovers to make these delicious pulled pork sliders or easy pulled pork pizza!
