If you boil the toffee to 350 degrees, do you still have to put it in the oven?

Great recipe, however DO NOT USE WAX PAPER! I had to throw the whole lot away bc it was welded to the toffee. Going to make a new batch and use foil. I only saw the the suggestion of putting it in the freezer after I chucked it in the bin.
