These tasty smoked burgers will quickly become a dinner time staple. They are absolutely delicious, flavourful and perfectly cooked on the grill every time.
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat. Mix well.
2. Add the bbq sauce, egg and spices.
3. Combine until everything is mixed thoroughly.
4. Form the mixture into burger patties that are about 5oz each.
5. Layer the round patties between sheets of parchment paper on a sheet pan for easy handling.
6. Place burgers on the Traeger smoker at 165 degrees F and allow them to smoke for two hours.
7. When ready to serve turn the Traeger up to 425 degrees and cook the beef patties for 5 more minutes on each side.
Make the patties about 5" in diameter and 1" thick, they will shrink in size when cooked.
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F with a meat thermometer.
After the two hour mark and the burgers have been smoked, you can place them in the freezer for later use.
