Christmas Butter Board Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1/4 cup smoked salmon or lox
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 of a tangerine
  • 2 tsp red caviar optional
  • Fresh rosemary fennel and parsley
  • Apple for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Slice the apple into 1/8" thickness and use cookie cutters to cut out festive shape. Store in a small bowl of water with a few drops of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • 2. Combine 1 tsp butter with 1 Tbsp cheese to form a star for the top of the board.
  • 3. Spread butter over a cutting board in the shape of a Christmas tree.
  • 4. Layer with salmon, cheese, caviar and herbs.
  • 5. Add the tangerines to the bottom, cranberries to the top and embellish with apple slices.
  • 6. Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
