Chocolate Kahlua Cake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 515 g box of Devil’s Food cake mix
  • 4 oz 113 g box instant chocolate pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Kahlua
  • 2/3 cup 150 g mini chocolate chips
  • For ganache:
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup 150 g mini chocolate chips
  • 1 oz Kahlua

Instructions

  • Mix the wet ingredients with an electric mixer until well combined.  About one minute on high.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated, about two minutes on medium.  Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan.
  • Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.
  • While the cake is cooling lets make the ganache.  
  • Place the chocolate chips into a medium bowl.  
  • In a medium saucepan bring the cream just to a boil.  
  • Watch it closely and when the cream comes to a boil immediately pour it over the chocolate chips.
  • Whisk the cream and chocolate together.  
  • Add the Kahlua and give it a stir.  
  • Slowly drizzle and pour the mixture over the entire cake.
