Hamburger Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1 cup yellow onion diced
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots
  • ¼ cup green onions diced

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2. In a large skillet, fry onion in oil until translucent.
  • 3. Add ground meat to the skillet and cook over medium high heat until done.
  • 4. Grease the baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 5. Combine the meat mixture, soup, and half of the cheese, in the bottom of the dish.
  • 6. Layer tater tots on the filling.
  • 7. Top with remaining shredded cheese.
  • 8. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. Broil at the end for 5 more minutes to melt the cheese and toast the tater tots to a nice golden brown.
  • 9. Top with green onions before serving.
