Materials

  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet
  • Sculpey clay in coral peach and spring green
  • clay cutting and shaping tools
  • white glue
  • white paint

Instructions

  • 1. Begin by forming the clay into soft, malleable balls about 1" in diameter.
  • 2. Form the balls into a cylinder shape that slightly tapers at the top.
  • 3. Form pea sized balls into tear drop shapes for ears.
  • 4. Form tiny cylinders in an alternate color to accent the ears.
  • 5. Press each cylinder into each tear drop shape of clay.
  • 6. Attach the ears to the top of the large cone of clay.
  • 7. Use a stylus to create two indents for eyes and create a large hole at the base for a pencil to fit it.
  • 8. Add a small contrasting ball of clay to the front for a nose.
  • 9. Form tiny black balls into eye shapes.
  • 10. Bake the clay as directed on the package, about 20 minutes at 275 degrees.
  • 11. When the clay cools, add the black clay to the eye sockets with a dab of glue.
  • 12. Add a dot of white paint to each eye.
