Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
Place the apples in a bowl.
Add all the apple filling ingredients including the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and salt and flour.
Coat the apples in the dry ingredients and set aside.
For the crumble topping mix the flour, salt and brown sugar together thoroughly.
Then use a fork to mix the softened butter and dry mixture until crumbly.
Place the apple filling in the cast iron pan, scraping all the extra juices and sugars from the bowl.
Top with the crumble mixture and cover all the apples.
Bake in the oven for 35 minutes or until the crumble topping has browned nicely.
Remove from the oven and top with a scoop of ice cream and drizzle caramel sauce.
