Christmas Paper Lanterns:

Each of these free printable sheets can be saved directly to your computer by right clicking on the image and selecting “save”.  Or you can download the complete package of PDF files using the form at the bottom of this post.

Christmas Village Paper Lantern Printable

Simply print each of these Christmas silhouettes, roll them into a tube shape and tape the edges into place. This activity is perfect for kids of all ages because it can be made as easy as this or with added crafty details!

Christmas Village Printable Process

Older kids can use scissors to cut out the window of each house design. They could add glue and sparkles to the trees and houses as well.

Materials:

  • White printer paper
  • Black ink
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Tea lights

How to make Christmas paper lanterns:

1. Download the PDF package of printables.

2. Print the Christmas silhouettes with black ink onto white printer paper.

3. Use scissors to cut out the windows in each design.

4. Roll and tape each printable into a tube shape.

5. Place a battery operated tea light into each lantern to create a luminary Christmas village.

Tip: sharp, pointy scissors work best for cutting out the windows. An exacto knife and cutting mat could be used as well.

The luminosity of these paper lanterns is created by the contrast of light and dark paper. Be sure to print the designs onto white computer paper and embellish only the silhouetted portion.

Place a tea light inside of each of the lanterns to create a lit up Christmas village that the whole family is sure to enjoy!
