DIY Felt Spider Wreath

This fun DIY Felt Spider Wreath is adorably simple to make.  With a few scraps of felt and an embroidery hoop, add this fluffy wreath to your door this Halloween!

Let me show you how to make a cute spider of your own.  With some basic craft supplies and a bit of hot glue, you can create this whimsical spider wreath in no time at all!

Supplies needed:

Side note – I love, love, love that hot glue gun. A rechargeable glue gun with no chord has been so freaking convenient when crafting lately!

How to create a Scrappy Felt Spider Wreath:

  1. Gather all of the supplies.

2. Loosen the screw at the top of the embroidery hoop and separate the two pieces. Tighten the screw back up. Use one hoop now and save the other for another project later.

3. Cut the felt into 1/2″ by 9″ long strips with scissors. You will need about 50 strips of felt.

4. Start tying the felt around the hoop using double knots.

5. Continue to tie felt around the wreath, pushing the strands together as you go. The more felt strips you fasten to the hoop, the fluffier looking the wreath will be.

6. Trim off excess longer bits of felt to give the wreath a round, uniform shape.

7. Wrap the pipe cleaners around a pencil and slide off to create a coil. Cut eight 1/2″ circles of felt material and glue one to the end of each piece of pipe cleaner.

8. Glue the pipe cleaner legs to the back of the wreath using the hot glue.

9. Glue the googly eyes to the front of the wreath and finish it off with a piece of ribbon for hanging.

I love how versatile this craft is! You could use all kinds of fun colors and textures to give this spider a whole new look.

  • Four – six black craft felt sheets
  • 4 ” wooden embroidery hoop
