Instructions:

1. Gather all of your supplies. Using the off-white acrylic craft paint, apply a base coat to the foam dice. Let it dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. The foam dice that I used required two coats of off-white acrylic paint.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Can’t find raffia? Grab an inexpensive grass hula skirt from your local Dollar Tree and use it instead.
  • Mason jars make a great alternative to the foam dice in this craft. Attach the “hair” to the mason jar lid. Make a little family, using different sizes of jars.
  • Your favorite thrift store is a great place to find inexpensive items to repurpose for all kinds of fun crafts.
  • Shopping at your local dollar store is a great way to save money on seasonal decorations, serving platters, and fun activity and craft supplies. Even better, shop clearance sales at the end of the season and stock up for next year.
