Is cookie dough safe to eat?
Regular cookie dough batter is not safe to eat raw as it contains raw eggs and raw flour. Both may contain harmful bacteria like e. coli when not treated.

How to make these cookie balls:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heat treated flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
Tip: all purpose flour can be used instead of heat treated. Simply heat the flour in a microwave safe bowl in a microwave oven on high for 1 minute 30 seconds or until it reaches 165 degrees fahreneit.
Directions:
1. In a large bowl with a hand mixer or stand mixer with paddle attachment, combine butter, vanilla and sugar. Whip until well combined.
2. Add flour to the large mixing bowl and combine well. Fold chocolate chips into the dough.
3. Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion out the dough and roll it into individual cookie dough balls.
Cookie dough balls may be placed on a baking sheet and into the fridge to firm up if needed. These could easily replace traditional cookies and are a favorite with our entire family!
