Simple Snowman Ornament
Are you a lover of snowmen? We sure are! The kids and I have been having a ton of fun creating all sorts of snowmen this season. This Simple Snowman Ornament is just that… simple!… and fun and easy to make! These little ornaments are not only perfect for trimming the Christmas tree but also awesome for embellishing gifts and packages this holiday season. Let me show you how to create a simple snowman ornament…
You only need a few simple (there is that word again!) supplies to create a few snowmen of your own.
Materials (#ad):
- Wooden pendants
- Acrylic paint
- Fine tip paint brush
- Bakers twine
I love crafts that require very few special materials or supplies because then you can make them at any time. My kids know that they can go into the craft room and find all sorts of things that will help them get creative! Keeping things organized into bins and stocked up is always helpful because then they can easily find the supplies that they may need. We tend to run out of hot glue sticks most often and I am always having to make a trip to the dollarstore to pick up more!
The boys painted all of the pendants white using the acrylic paint. They painted one side, allowed it to dry, flipped the pendant, then painted the other side.
I added snowman features and blushing cheeks with a fine tip paint brush. Then Cam and Isaiah cut bakers twine and tied a string through the little hole in the pendant for hanging.
Like snowflakes, each of our snowmen turned out completely unique and interesting. It was fun to give them all different expressions. We have been selling them at local craft fairs, attaching them to gifts and handing them out as random acts of kindness. What would you do with a handful of these little guys?! We have made a cork snowman, block snowman and wooden snowman because they are just so cute.
