April Fools Brussel Sprout Cake Balls

These April Fools Cake Balls are so fun to create as an April Fools' Day food prank. Surprise the kids this year with chocolate covered brussels sprouts!

Ingredients

  • 12 brussel sprouts
  • 6 oz melting chocolate wafers
  • 2 oz melting white chocolate wafers
  • 1 Tbsp sprinkles

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the brussels sprouts by washing them, cutting off the stem and trimming off excess leaves.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave at 15 second intervals. Stir in between intervals until the chocolate is a smooth consistency.
  • 3. Using a fork, dip the brussels sprouts into the chocolate and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • 4. In a small bowl, melt the white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 15 second intervals. Stir in between intervals until the chocolate is a smooth consistency.
  • 5. Drizzle the white chocolate over the balls and and top with sprinkles.
  • 6. Place the brussels sprout cake balls into the fridge to harden before "serving".

Notes

Using a fork helps the excess chocolate to drip from the sprout.
Be sure to cover each brussels sprout entirely with chocolate so that none of the green from the sprout is showing.
