Ingredients

  • 400 g fresh asparagus
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the ingredients.  Rinse the asparagus in cold water.
  • 2. Break off the woody ends by bending the stalk and snapping them off.
  • 3. Add butter and garlic to a skillet and heat on medium until the butter is melted.
  • 4. Add the asparagus and toss until completely coated in butter.
  • 5. Saute until the stalks turn a darker shade of green, about 5 minutes.
  • 6. Add salt and pepper and serve!

Notes

Tip: do not over cook, you want the asparagus to be firm not floppy!
