Materials

  • Four - six black craft felt sheets
  • 4 " wooden embroidery hoop
  • Eight black pipe cleaners
  • Two large googly eyes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Scissors
  • Black ribbon or floral wire

Instructions

  • 1. Gather all of the supplies.
  • 2. Loosen the screw at the top of the embroidery hoop and separate the two pieces. Tighten the screw back up. Use one hoop now and save the other for another project later.
  • 3. Cut the felt into 1/2" by 9" long strips with scissors. You will need about 50 strips of felt.
  • 4. Start tying the felt around the hoop using double knots.
  • 5. Continue to tie felt around the wreath, pushing the strands together as you go. The more felt strips you fasten to the hoop, the fluffier looking the wreath will be.
  • 6. Trim off excess longer bits of felt to give the wreath a round, uniform shape.
  • 7. Wrap the pipe cleaners around a pencil and slide off to create a coil. Cut eight 1/2" circles of felt material and glue one to the end of each piece of pipe cleaner.
  • 8. Glue the pipe cleaner legs to the back of the wreath using the hot glue.
  • 9. Glue the googly eyes to the front of the wreath and finish it off with a piece of ribbon for hanging.
