Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp salted butter
  • 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 2 Tbsp pickled jalapeno juice
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • 1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • 2. Add the flour and stir until combined and a soft dough forms.
  • 3. Whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer on medium heat.
  • 4. Reduce the heat to low and add the remaining ingredients to the pan.
  • 5. Stir until the cheese melts. Remove from heat.
  • 6. Serve while warm.

Notes

Pickled jalapeno juice is the secret ingredient that makes this cheesy dip so good! It's worth buying pickled jalapenos just to use the juice in this recipe but if you don't want to do that you can simply add 2 tsp of hot sauce instead.
