Sausage & Croissant Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6-8 large croissants sliced
  • 1 - 375 g package mild Italian sausage cooked
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 10 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Brown sausage in a large skillet on medium heat, add onion and cook until translucent.
  • 3. Cut the flaky crescent rolls into 1" slices.
  • 4. In a large bowl, combine egg and milk. Add seasoning of choice.
  • 5. Spray a large 9x13" casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray. 
  • 6. Layer the croissants on the bottom of the pan and top with the sausage mixture, egg mixture and cheese.  
  • 7. Give the entire casserole a stir to make sure that all of the bread is coated in the egg mixture and the sausage and cheese is evenly distributed in the baking dish.
  • 8. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes, until the center is firm, cooked through and the croissants are golden brown.
