- 1 ⅓ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ tsp peppermint extract
- ½ cup crushed peppermint candy canes
- reserve 2 Tbsp crushed candy cane for topping
Prevent your screen from going dark
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
Melt butter and mix with cocoa.
Add eggs, vanilla and peppermint extract.
Add sugar.
Carefully add flour mixture and combine well.
Fold in crushed candy canes.
Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan, spread and smooth with a spatula, sprinkle with remaining candy cane and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
Allow to completely cool before removing from pan and cutting into squares.
