Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury pizza dough
  • ½ can of pizza sauce about 125ml
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 200 grams sliced pepperoni

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the pizza dough, using about ¼ of the dough to roll flat for the brim (circle) of the hat. Roll out the remaining pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle shape.
  • Place shaped dough on parchment-lined baking sheet with the rectangle over the circle. Bake for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove pizza dough from oven and add sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni to create the stripes of the hat.
  • Return to oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of your dough and desired doneness.

Notes

  • Use a pastry wheel to trim the dough for neater stripes and cleaner edges.
  • Let the dough warm slightly before rolling so it stretches without snapping back.
  • If you want a softer finish, cover the pizza loosely with foil for the last minute of baking.
  • Freeze leftover dough portions for quick lunches later.
  • Add cornmeal under the dough for extra crispiness and easier release from the pan.
  • Slice using kitchen shears to keep all the toppings in place.
