Ingredients

  • 3.4 oz box vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups 355ml eggnog
  • 8 oz Cool Whip whipped topping 226g container
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat together the eggnog and pudding mix.
  • Place in the fridge to set for 10 minutes.
  • Fold in the Cool Whip.
  • Transfer the eggnog dip mixture to a serving bowl, top with a sprinkle of nutmeg, and serve with gingersnap cookies or slices of crisp apple.

Notes

  • Homemade eggnog can be used instead of store-bought in this recipe. Just make sure it is thoroughly chilled before mixing to help the dip set properly.
  • This dip can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator. Give it a quick stir before serving for the best texture.
  • When stored in an airtight container, eggnog dessert dip will stay fresh for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. For the best flavor and texture, enjoy it within the first couple of days.
  • Freezing eggnog dip is not recommended. The whipped topping and pudding mixture can separate during thawing, resulting in a grainy texture rather than the smooth, creamy consistency you want. It’s best to enjoy it fresh or store leftovers in the fridge.
  • Gingersnap cookies, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, and fresh fruit all pair wonderfully with this creamy holiday dip. For a festive touch, try cinnamon or sugar-dusted shortbread cookies, or pair it with marshmallows for a unique twist.
  • For a lighter version, consider using low-fat eggnog, sugar-free pudding, and a reduced-fat whipped topping. Note that the flavor might be slightly less rich, but it will still be delicious.
  • For an adults-only version of this dip, stir in a tablespoon or two of rum, bourbon, or brandy. You can also use rum extract for the flavor without the alcohol.
  • If your dip seems thin, allow the pudding and eggnog mixture to chill for the full 10 minutes before folding in the Cool Whip. Additional refrigeration time can also help it firm up.
