Easy Sandwich Bread (Viral Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp active dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 5 cups bread flour
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, combine warm water, honey and yeast.
  • Whisk, cover and let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, salt and 4 cups of flour.
  • Mix on low speed using the dough hook attachment. Add the 5th cup of flour if the dough feels too sticky.
  • Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and knead into a smooth ball.
  • Place dough in a large bowl greased with olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for an hour.
  • Punch down the dough, split in half, roll into rectangles, and place each in a greased bread pan.
  • Brush tops with olive oil, sprinkle Everything Bagel Seasoning and let them rise for another hour.
  • Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Transfer loaves to a cooling rack, slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for smoother dough.
  • Avoid adding much flour during kneading—it can make the bread dense.
  • Test the dough with the windowpane test to ensure it’s elastic and ready. This involves stretching the dough until it is almost see through but doesn't break!
  • Line the bottom of the loaf pans with parchment paper for easy bread removal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for freshness.
