Ingredients

  • 6 all beef hot dogs
  • 6 hot dog buns
  • Hot dog sauce prepared
  • Nacho sauce prepared

Instructions

  • Place the dogs in boiling water to cook.
  • Boil for 4-6 minutes.
  • Using tongs, place the dog into a fresh bun.
  • Top with several tablespoons of the ground beef mixture.
  • Add nacho cheese sauce overtop.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to one week in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or air fryer.
  • Toasted buns make all the difference—brush with olive oil or butter and broil until golden.
  • Simmer the chili long enough to thicken but not dry it out—it should be rich, not soupy.
  • You can prep the chili in advance and keep it warm on low heat while you boil the dogs.
  • Freeze leftover chili in an airtight container for emergency hot dog nights.
  • For extra melty goodness, add shredded cheddar on top of the nacho cheese.
  • You can swap ground beef for ground turkey for a leaner chili without losing flavor.
  • Want a meatless version? Try vegan chili and hot dogs for a totally plant-based twist.
