kids slouchie beanie crochet patternHave you been joining us for #projectcrochet?!  My favorite projects to crochet are ones that I make for my kids.  They are always so grateful and excited when they receive a new accessory from Mom.  This slouchie pattern is beyond adorable too… I think that I should make one for all of the children in my life.  Seriously cute and quick to make!

Slouchie Beanie Crochet Pattern:

Child’s Slouchie Beanie Crochet Pattern

Yarn: bulky weight (less than one skein) Loops & Threads Charisma

Hook: N / 9.00mm

Guage: first two rounds measure 4.5” in diameter

 

*ch 4 counts as a stitch

*each stitch rounds 1 – 11 is a double crochet and ch

*stitches are worked into the space, not the stitch of the previous round

*slip stich to join is made in the second chain stitch from the start of the round

 

Terms:

Ch – chain

Ss – slip stitch

Sp – space

Dc – double crochet

Sc – single crochet

 

Ch 5, ss into first chain to form a ring

Round 1: ch 4, (dc, ch into ring) seven times, ss to join {8}

Round 2: ch 4, (dc, ch twice into each sp) repeat around, ss to join {16}

Round 3: ch 4, (dc, ch twice in the first sp, dc, ch once into next sp) repeat around, ss to join {24}

Round 4: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {25}

Round 5: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {26}

Round 6: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {27}

Round 7: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {28}

Round 8: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {29}

Round 9: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp adding one st each round, ss to join {30}

Round 10: change colours (optional) ch 4, dc, ch into each, ss to join {30}

Round 11: ch 4, dc, ch into each sp, ss to join {30}

Round 12: ch 4, dc only into each sp around, ss to join {30}

Round 13: change colours (optional) sc into each st, ss to join {30}

Round 14: sc into each st, ss to join {30}

Round 15: change colours (optional) sc into each st, ss to join {30}

 

Tie off and stitch in yarn ends.
