Copycat Dole Whip (Ninja Creami Recipe)

Make your own Copycat Dole Whip in the Ninja Creami. Creamy, tropical and bursting with pineapple flavor – just like the classic treat, but homemade!

A creamy dessert in a cup, surrounded by small pineapple chunks on a wooden surface. The dessert has a smooth, swirled texture on top, with the pineapple pieces arranged in a scattered pattern around it.

This is a refreshing, tropical treat made with just four simple ingredients! Perfectly sweet, creamy and easy to make.

On our most recent trip to Hawaii, we had the chance to visit the original Dole Plantation, where we indulged in the most delicious, fresh pineapple soft serve. Seriously even better than the Disney version!

Since we can’t exactly hop on a plane to get one every time we have a craving, I had to recreate it at home! The sweet, creamy flavor was unforgettable, and it inspired me to make this copycat version with the Ninja Creami!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This recipe tastes just like the real thing – creamy, smooth, and bursting with tropical pineapple flavor. It’s made with just four simple ingredients, making it an easy and fuss-free treat.

A bowl of creamy, pineapple dessert topped with small pineapple chunks. A spoon is dipped into the dessert. Pineapple pieces are scattered around the bowl on a wooden surface.

You can also customize it to suit your preferences by adjusting the sweetness or adding mix-ins. If you’re dairy-free, simply swap out the regular milk for extra coconut milk to keep it lactose free.

This copycat dole whip is the perfect refreshing dessert for summer or whenever you need a little taste of the tropics!

Ingredients

  • Crushed pineapple – canned pineapple with juice works best for the right consistency.
  • Monk fruit sweetener or granulated white sugar – adds sweetness without overpowering the tropical flavors.
  • Coconut milk – adds a hint of coconut flavor and creamy texture.
  • Milk – I use 2% milk. This helps create a smooth and scoopable consistency. If you want a higher protein treat – sub with your favorite vanilla protein shake.

3. Place the container on a flat, level surface in the freezer and freeze for 24 hours or until solid.

4. Once frozen, remove from the freezer and run the pint under hot water for 30 seconds before removing the lid.

Tips & Tricks

  • You can substitute a ½ teaspoon of xanthan gum for the dry pudding mix before freezing. This helps prevent ice crystals and still gives it that classic ice cream consistency.
Place the pint on a flat surface in your freezer to prevent freezing at an angle.
  • If the ice cream is too hard, use the Re-spin function for a softer consistency.
  • Let the frozen pint sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes or run under hot water before spinning to prevent icy chunks.
  • If a dome forms on top while freezing, try freezing without the lid or scrape off any excess before spinning to protect your blades.
  • If you’re looking to reduce sugar content, consider using natural sweeteners like honey or agave syrup for a different flavor profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I make this recipe even higher in protein?

Use Premier Protein shakes or Fairlife milk instead of regular milk or coconut milk. You can also mix in a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder before freezing!

When should I use regular mode vs. lite mode?

Regular mode is best for higher-fat recipes with a creamy base, while Lite mode works well for lower-fat treats like sorbets and fruit-based ice creams.

Can I make this dairy free?

You bet! Feel free to substitute with non-dairy milk like soy milk or oat milk to keep it creamy without dairy.

How should I store leftovers?

Flatten the top before refreezing in the pint container or an airtight container. If it hardens too much, reprocess it using the same mode.
