Creamy Shrimp Spaghetti Recipe (in 15 Minutes!)
Whip up this creamy shrimp spaghetti recipe in just 15 minutes! Juicy shrimp, garlic, and parmesan blend perfectly with al dente pasta for a quick, delicious meal.
We love pasta, like this one pot hamburger helper and one pot broccoli pasta dish. Noodles are one of those pantry staples that most of us keep on hand all the time.
While pasta is definitely a family favorite, sometimes traditional tomato-based spaghetti sauce just gets a bit boring. That’s why I like to find recipes that use different types of sauces instead.

Today’s shrimp spaghetti recipe is exactly the kind of quick pasta dish I love. Similar to carbonara, but without the hassle of adding egg, this recipe uses heavy cream to help create a creamy garlic butter sauce.
Shrimp Spaghetti Recipe
In minutes, I can prepare a delicious dish for my boys to enjoy. It is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner, when we have a lot of other things going on.
Tips and Tricks
- Whether you are using fresh shrimp or frozen, pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture that could dilute the flavor of the sauce.
- Skip the pasta and serve this succulent shrimp on its own as an appetizer.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti noodles
- Bacon, cooked and chopped into pieces
- 30-35 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined, tail off
- Garlic cloves
- Parmesan cheese, shredded
- Unsalted butter, room temperature
- Red pepper flakes
- Salt & pepper
- Heavy cream
- Fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
1. Place shrimp in a medium bowl and toss with salt and pepper.
2. In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic, parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes.
3. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat.
4. Remove from the pan to a piece of paper towel, leaving bacon grease in the skillet.
5. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce heat slightly and add spaghetti noodles.
6. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente and drain water using a colander. Let the cooked spaghetti rest in the colander.
7. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook in a single layer for 6-8 minutes over medium until done. The cook time will depend on the size of the shrimp you are using.
8. Remove from heat.
9. Add spaghetti to the shrimp and top with butter mixture.
10. Stir to combine until the butter melts completely.
11. Add cream, bacon, and parsley.
12. Toss and serve.
Alternate Ingredients
- Use any long pasta you prefer. Angel hair pasta works particularly well, but you could also try linguine or fettucine.
- Whole grain pasta can also be used.
- Substitute chicken for the shrimp.
- If you don’t want to use cream in your sauce, try substituting it with chicken broth, a little white wine, or even pasta water.
- Try garlic powder if fresh garlic isn’t available.
- Add lemon zest.
