How to make these crochet monster hat pattern details:
Ear Flaps

Row 2: sc decrease, sc in next eight st, sc decrease, ch 1, turn
Row 3: sc 10, turn

Row 5: sc 8, turn
Row 6: sc decrease, sc in next four st, sc decrease, ch 1, turn

Row 8: sc decrease, sc in next two st, sc decrease, ch 1, turn
Row 9: sc 4, turn
Row 10: sc decrease 2, ch 1, turn
Row 11: sc decrease, fasten off
Count 18-20 stitches {along the bottom of the hat} from first ear flap, sl st to join and repeat row 1 – 11 {do not fasten off}. When row 11 is complete on the second ear flap, sc around the entire hat until you reach the end of row 11 again, fasten off and sew in loose yarn.
Yarn braid
Cut 16 piece of yarn about 18″ in length. Fold 8 pieces of the yarn in half to thread through the end of one ear flap and braid. Tie off the braid at the end with a scrap piece of yarn. Repeat for the second ear flap.
