This Fruity Pebbles Tie Dye bar recipe is super easy to make! As my kids are huge fans of rice krispie treats, I wanted to make something a bit more colorful for them to enjoy.
What are Rice Krispie Treats?
Rice krispie treats are primarily made of rice krispies cereal, melted butter and mini marshmallows. These colorful tie dye treats are made using Fruity Pebble cereal, giving them the rainbow colors.
The process is the same as making traditional rice krispie treats. Only with these bars I’ve also topped them with a fun tie dye icing technique!
This easy tie dye treat can be personalized with a wide variety of festive ingredients! Try adding: marshmallow fluff, white chocolate chips, white frosting or rainbow sprinkles!

Ingredients:

- 4 cups miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups Fruity Pebble rice cereal
- 1 cup powdered icing sugar
- 4 Tbsp water
- Liquid drop food coloring
Directions:
1. Prepare ingredients and spray a 9×13″ cake pan with non stick baking spray.
2. In large saucepan melt butter over medium-low heat.
3. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
4. Add Fruity Pebble rice krispie cereal.
5. Stir until the cereal mixture is well combined.
6. Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, evenly press the mixture into the baking dish. Allow to cool before removing from the pan and placing on a wire rack.
7. In a medium Pyrex mixing cup, combine powdered sugar and water. Stir until the icing becomes a smooth, pourable consistency.
8. Drop several drops of each color of food coloring on top of the icing in the cup.
Note: I used two drops of yellow, blue, red and green food coloring.
9. Swirl the mixing cup slightly before carefully pouring the icing all over the top of the rice krispie bar.
Tip: you may need to tilt and tip the rice krispie slab to get the icing to spread out over the entire surface.
10. Allow the icing to completely harden on the counter or in the fridge for about an hour.
How fun is this tie dye icing technique?! I love the swirls of bright color all over these Fruity Pebble bars!
11. Cut the rice treat into 2″ bars with a sharp knife.
