We all have that one friend (or maybe it’s you?) who hosts a Halloween party and creates an amazing spread of food for guests. Hand pies, spider web dip, witch fingers and the like. Well, this mummy garlic bread would make a great addition to that!

Substitutions

  • If you don’t have english muffins, use what you have. In the past I’ve used french bread, pizza dough and even slices of white bread to make these cheesy mummies.
  • Any kind of cheese works in this recipe as long as it’s white. Havarti, gouda or provolone would all be delicious.
  • Fresh garlic cloves are best but jarred garlic and/or garlic powder may be used instead.
  • Use mushrooms, diced peppers or pepperoni for eyes.

Tips & tricks

  • Store leftover garlic bread in an airtight container for a day or two.
  • For more defined mummy wrap lines, use a harder cheese like smoked gouda.
  • Be sure to toast the garlic bread first before adding the strips of cheese.

I would honestly make these for any occasion, they are just so good! The combination of garlic and melty cheese on flaky english muffins is delicious.

The butter and garlic soaks into the bread leaving it full of flavor. Add the melted cheese and this garlic bread recipe is sure to be a hit with the whole family!
