Last fall the girls and I went on a little road trip to an absolutely gorgeous getaway on the ocean. We took long relaxing walks, ate our fill of charcuterie boards and celebrated friendship with this delicious harvest sangria!
This is one of my favorite sangria recipes, the perfect drink made with crisp white wine and a variety of fruits in a large pitcher. This easy white sangria is lovely on a hot summer day and the best thing for a girls night!
What is white sangria made of?
White sangria is most often made with Pinot Grigio because of the light, fresh flavour of this wine. It can be paired with fresh fruit, club soda, apple cider and cinnamon for an easy white wine sangria everyone loves.
We all chipped in to create this yummy cocktail! Most of the ingredients were found right here in the Okanagan and paired amazingly well together.
How to make this local harvest sangria:
Ingredients:
- Apple, diced
- Bottle pinot grigio
- Ginger ale
- Spiced apple cider
- Cinnamon
Tip: a sauvignon blanc, gewurztraminer, champagne or any good white wine can be substituted for the entire bottle of pinot grigio in this apple cider sangria recipe.
Directions:
1. Dice one apple. We used Ambrosia apples from a local orchard.
2. Place about 1/4 cup of the diced apple into the bottom of each glass.
3. Pour 1/2 cup fresh squeezed spiced apple cider and 1/2 cup pinot gris into each glass. Top with a splash of ginger ale, crushed ice and sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.
Garnished with cinnamon sticks, this white wine sangria recipe has notes of apple and cinnamon that make a lovely fall sangria too.
We served these with a weekend brunch of bacon and eggs before we went on a hike along the seashore. It was lovely to say the least! For more details on our girls trip be sure to check out my Fun Local Vacation Ideas post!
