In our opinion, the best wine to use for this mimosa recipe is this cabernet sauvignon from Quails’ Gate. Pinot grigio, pinot noir or a rose would also work but won’t have the same rich flavour.

Pomegranate wine recipe:
Ingredients:
- 6 whole pomegranates
- 19 cups of water
- 1 cup grape juice
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tsp acid
- 1/4 tsp wine tannin
- 1 tsp pectic enzyme
- 1 tsp yeast nutrient
- 1 campden tablet
- 1 sachet wine yeast
Directions:
1. Process the pomegranates and cook with sugar.
2. Strain the pith and seeds from the mixture.
3. Add the hot syrup to a fermenter and allow to cool.
4. Ferment and process the homemade pomegranate wine as directed by the specific instructions in your wine kit.
This festive drink is great because there are endless options for personalizing it to your taste.
Variations of holiday mimosa recipes:
- Use champagne, ginger ale or ginger beer instead of Sprite.
- Experiment with different citrus flavours! Add lemon juice, orange juice or lime juice.

Pomegranate Mimosa Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 4 oz pomegranate juice
- 2 oz pomegranate liqueur
- 6 oz red wine
- 2 cups 7UP or Sprite
- Pomegranate seeds, for garnish
Directions:
1. Make the pomegranate liqueur as directed.
Tip: simple syrup may be used instead.
2. In a large pitcher combine pomegranate juice, liqueur and red wine.
3. Add soda to fill the pitcher.
4. Rim champagne flutes with granular sugar (optional).
5. Pour the mimosa mixture into champagne glasses and garnish with pomegranate seeds.
You can store this mimosa in the refrigerator for later or pour it into a large sealed carafe to take with you!
