Chocolate Oreo Cookie Recipe

This is seriously the best chocolate oreo cookie recipe ever… incredibly easy, delicious and perfectly chewy! They have quickly become our favorite oreo cookie dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • cup butter
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • ½ cup oreo mini cookies

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set to the side.
  • 2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  • 3. Using a stand or electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar on medium speed until light brown. Once combined, add the egg and extract and beat on high for 3-4 minutes.
  • 4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and turn the mixer on low speed to start, then after 1 minute turn the mixer up to high and mix until combined. 
  • 5. Add chocolate chips and stir with a rubber spatula until mixed throughly.
  • 6. Use a cookie scoop to make even cookie dough balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  • 7. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees f, or until the top of the cookie is set.
  • 8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes then transfer the baked cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  • 9. In a small bowl, crush about 8 mini oreo cookies and fold into the frosting.
  • 10. Scoop the frosting into a piping bag with 1A tip and cover each cookie with the frosting.
  • 11. Top each cookie with more crushed oreos.
